The franchisee for the team representing Delhi in the
Indian Premier League has been bought by the GMR Group for a cost of $84 million. The Delhi Daredevils have Yogesh Shetty as the CEO of the team and Greg Shipperd as the
coach of the
team.
The Icon
player of the team as well as the captain is Virendra Sehwag who was selected at the first auction of the IPL. The Icon player of the team is paid fifteen percent more than the highest paid player in the team. In addition to Sehwag, various other famous players were man aged to be taken in the team. These include Daniel Vettori who was obtained at a price of US$625,000 and Mohammad Asif who cost the team owners US$650,000. These two are the highest paid in the team after the icon player. Other players in the team are Shoaib Malik, AB de Villiers, Farveez Mahmood, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Gautam Gambhir, Manoj Tiwary, Glenn McGrath, and Brett Geevesetc.
Other local players and under-19 and under-22 players have been taken in as well which have the likes of Pradeep Sangwan, Mithun Manhas, Rajat Bhatia, Mayank Tehlan, Shikhar Dhawan etc.
