The Deccan Chargers lost yet another match today against the Bangalore Royal Challengers today. The win today came for the Bangalore team by 5 wickets and VinayKumar who hauled three important wickets was awarded the man of the match.
After this defeat, the Deccan Chargers have lost all that they have and have now ended with thelast position in the IPL scorecard in this season. The captain Gilchrist was not a happy man and owned up that his team lacked the skills and need to be trained for the next season. The Bangalore team has now got the seventh position in the points table.
The highest scorers in the Deccan team which batted first were the openers of the team. Gilchrist scored a 37-ball 46 runs whereas Gibbs made 47 runs off 34balls. Three ducks were seen from the team and the entire lower order failed badly. The team could have made more than they actually scored, had the middle or lower performed to some extent. The team set up a target of 166 runs for the Bangalore team to chase. Vinay Kumar, the bowler from Bangalore, disrupted all the plans of the Deccan team to make a good total.
Kallis and Jaffer opened the Bangalore innings. The latter was lost pretty early at just 5 runs. Kallis however stayed on with Misbah and both these players started getting a good run rate for the team. As soon as it seemed that the team had control of the match, both the batsmen lost their wickets. Dravid and White then came in to bat. Dravid scored 31 runs off 28 balls whereas White scored an equal number on 23 balls and both batsmen lost their wickets. The situation seemed to worsen at that time but Akhil made sure that the team got the victory. He made 27 runs off just 7 balls and got the match for the team.
