The team of the Rajasthan Royals today maintained their 100% record of winning at home by clinching victory against the Mumbai Indians. The effort behind the chase of the target is attributed to the young batsmen of the team Jadeja and Patel. Sohail Tanvir was awarded the man of the match for his four-wicket haul against the Mumbai Indians.
The team of the Mumbai Indians showed some examples of faulty fielding which could have saved a lot of runs if corrected. This match was also witness to run outs which were comical. Pressure was seen to be taking its toll on the players, and for some reasons they affected the more experienced players more than the new players. The perfect example of this is the fumble on the last ball by Sanath which could have got victory for the team. Also, the extra run given by wide on the ultimate ball by Dilhara could have at least got a tie for the team.
The highest scorer in the Mumbai team was Sanath with 38 runs with Sachin following second with 30 runs. SOhail Tanvir crashed the middle order of the team with his 2 over spell that got 4 wickets. Only two other batsmen could score and that too not beyond the thirties.
The pitch was not fit for stroke-play which made it difficult for the Rajasthan team to chase the target. The top and middle order could not go beyond the twenties and thirties mark and it became difficult for the batsmen to score for the target. At the end, it seemed like improbable that 32 runs would come off 3 overs with two youngsters on strike. However, luck favoured and these players didn’t flinch which ultimately got victory for this team. Delhi has now entered the semis with Mumbai’s defeat. The Mumbai team luck depends on the performance of Chennai against Deccan Chargers.
