The final match of the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League could not have gone any better than this! What a performance from both the teams! It was the Rajasthan Royals team for which victory ensued however. The final ball of the match was witness to the great victory that the team has achieved today against the Chennai Super Kings.

The match did not have a very good start as the Rajasthan team won the match and Chennai came to bat first. The innings and the match seemed to be very low on excitement. The Chennai team could make only 163 runs in their innings on this low-scoring pitch. The highest scores were by Raina who scored 43 runs and Patel who got 38. Yousuf Pathan got three wickets against the Chennai team in his 3 overs.

It was a crucial situation for Rajasthan when their opener Patel was lost in the fourth over. Asnodkar was dismissed on 28 runs and so was Watson. Pathan was there on the field and was dropped two times but finally he made 56 runs when he got run out. The maximum pressure was then felt by Warne who was there on the field along with Tanvir. These two batsmen handled the pressure very well, got lucky too and managed to level scores with one ball left. It was on the last ball of the match that the winning run was scored by Warne and there was a spurt of celebrations everywhere in the grounds.

Yusuf Pathan was the Man of the match today. Shane Watson was awarded the man of the series with above 400 runs and 17 wickets in the tournament. Marsh was the batsmen of the series whereas Tanvir was the bowler of the series. Shane Warne and his boys go home now as happy people with the great trophy in their hands.
