The team of the Delhi Daredevils has got another victory in their task to get into the semi-finals of the IPL. The team won against the Bangalore Royal Challengers with 5 wickets remaining and with 10 balls still to go. The Bangalore team on the other hand has ruled themselves out of the competition with this fifth defeat in a row for them.
The Delhi Daredevils chose to field first on winning the toss. Kallis and Chipli opened the strike for the Bangalore Royal Challengers. Chipli was dismissed by McGrath at just 2 runs whereas Kallis remained on the field with Goswami and built a partnership. Kallis scored 25 runs before his dismissal and Goswami led the team ahead by 52 more runs. Misbah also ensured that the team gets a modest total of 154 runs and for this he added 47 runs from his kitty. McGrath and Maharoof got two wickets each against the Bangalore team.
The openers of Delhi Daredevils team got a good partnership running between them which lasted 90 runs. Individually, Sehwag scored 47 runs whereas Gautam Gambhir contributed 39 runs to the score. De Villiers made 21 runs off 25 balls. Some struggle was seen after the dismissal of the openers but still, the team was able to cope with it soon and got a strong position again. The middle order of the team held on and got the chase of 158 runs achieved with 10 balls still to go. Goswami from the Bangalore team was awarded the man of the match today as in his debut match itself; he scored a half century for his team.
