After the defeat that the Kings XI team of Mohali got from the Chennai Superstars in the last match, this was a sure relief for the team when they won against the Bangalore Royal Challengers. The opponents however got another thrashing defeat and seems are in no mood to budge from their eighth spot in the points table. The Kings team won by a clean 9 nine wickets with 26 balls still remaining for them.
The Bangalore Challengers won the toss and chose to bat first. They did not have what you can call a kick start opening. Arunkumar, one of the openers, was dismissed at his score of 1 run. Kohli however stayed on to make 21 runs along with Misbah who made an equal score before his dismissal. Moving further down, the highest scorer of the match was Boucher who scored 39 runs off 32 balls followed by Dravid who scored 29 off 26 balls. The rest of the batsmen could not play well with the bowling attack of the Kings XI Punjab. The score of the Bangalore was restricted to 143 runs when they had aimed for 175 or more runs.
The Kings XI Punjab was pretty much at ease while making the chase of 144 runs. The players seemed very confident and they had complete reason to be. Marsh and Hopes opened the game for the Punjab team and they did it very well. Hopes was dismissed at a score of 27 runs off 19 balls. Pomersbach then came in to the field and made runs with Marsh. The former made 74 runs and the latter managed 34 runs in his knock. Both the players remained unbeaten and got victory for the team by 9 wickets. Marsh was awarded the man of the match for his good batting flick.
