The team that is topping the score table in the IPL this season, the Rajasthan Royals team proved today that it is certainly worth of being on the top. The team today performed under great pressure and defeated the Mumbai Indians by 5 wickets. Victory came in for them only on the last ball.
The Rajasthan team chose to field first on winning the toss. The Mumbai Indians team started their innings with Sanath Jayasuriya and Sachin Tendulkar opening the game. Sanath made 38 runs off 36 balls and Sachin contributed 30 runs off 34 balls. Nayar after these two batsmen along with Takawale who came in at number 8 performed and made 25 and 24 runs respectively. All other batsmen from the middle and the lower order failed miserably and a low score of 145 runs was made in total by the Mumbai team which can perform far better than this. Sohail Tanvir created his magic again by hauling 4 wickets against the Mumbai team and also Trivedi who got two. These two were most important in disturbing the pace of batting of the Mumbai team.
The Rajasthan Royals also did not find it very easy to chase the target. Akmal and Asnodkar, the openers were both dismissed before they could cross the twenty-mark. Watson and Kaif also scored a similar number. The highest scorer in the match was Patel who made 40 runs. His play along with that of Jadeja who scored 23 got the match for the team. The last ball required 3 runs to win and was followed by a wide ball by Dilhara. The last ball saw chances of a run out too but a fumble from Sanath cost the team the match. The team was elated and the spectators were surprised with this superb win that came from the young boys. Sohail Tanvir was the man of the match.
