







After making much news and coming in limelight about the choice of team players and the owner not happy with the performance, the Bangalore Royal Challengers team is finally out of the semi-finals. This was their fifth consecutive defeat and was against the Delhi Daredevils. The Delhi team won by 5 wickets with 10 balls still in hand. The debutant from Bangalore Royal Challengers, Goswami was awarded the man of the match for his half century in the first match itself.
The toss was won by the Delhi Daredevils who chose to field first. Batting first, the Bangalore team made a total of 154 runs for the Delhi team to chase. Kallis and Chipli opened strike for the team. Chipli was able to manage only 2 runs when he caught by Bhatia off a delivery by McGrath. Kallis however was there along with Goswami and built a sound partnership. Kallis made 25 runs off 21 balls whereas Goswami managed 52 runs off 42 balls. Misbah also scored a good 47 runs off 25 balls and the team score went up. The lower order of the team could not perform as usual. 2 wickets each were obtained by McGrath and Maharoof.
The Delhi team had a better start than their opponents. Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir opened the game for the team. The former scored 47 runs whereas Gambhir managed 39 runs. De Villiers held the situation after the dismissal of these two batsmen when the situation looked somewhat grim. Dhawan too poured in 16 runs off 13 balls to get victory for the team with Maharoof who stood at 13 runs at that time. The team still had 10 runs to go when they achieved the target.
