Place : Mumbai

The Deccan Chargers are, with their defeat in this match today, have ruled out maximum chances of their qualifying for the semi-finals now. The Dehli Daredevils defeated the Deccan Chargers by 12 runs. Amit Mishra was awarded the man of the match for his stupendous bowling attack today in the match.

It was the choice of the Deccan Chargers to field first which brought Gambhir and Sehwag to the field to open the game. Sehwag was dismissed on a duck but Gambhir stayed on and made 79 runs off 48 balls for his team. Along with him, the third man in, Dhawan too scored a good 68 runs on 52 balls along with Gambhir. Both these players set up a great base for the batting of the team. The total target made by the team was 195 runs for the Deccan Chargers to chase.

The top order of the Deccan Chargers batted very stably today. The first six batsmen of the team played their strokes pretty well and the highest score was made by Rao with 34 runs and also Afridi who made 33 runs off 14 balls. Sharma also contributed 35 runs to the team score. However, with the dismissal of Rao, things went berserk for the  team and they started to lose wickets very quickly. It was in the last over of the match that Amit Mishra struck a hat-trick by dismissing 3 batsmen. This got the team a good victory when the Deccan could have covered the gap of runs with a few boundaries.

The Delhi team has, after three matches lost, come back and won this match.Amit Sharma was awarded the man of the match for his magical 5 wickets by giving away for just 11 runs.
