The match that happened today between them and the Rajasthan Royals saw the Bangalore Royal Challengers see new low in the tournament. The team was virtually drubbed to the lowest score of 65 runs in the tournament as of now and the fifth lowest in all T20 matches.
Only the toss in the match was the good thing in the complete match for the Bangalore team. They chose to field first and gave a chance to the Rajasthan team to show of their batting skills. Smith, Asnodkar and Watson were the acting representatives of the team when it came to batting. The opener Smith was unbeaten in the complete innings and departed with 75 runs to his credit out of the total of 197 runs that were made by the team. Asnodkar was dismissed on 50 runs which he made on 44 runs. Watson scored 46 runs off 28 balls for the team and remained unbeaten.
The Bangalore team needed a kick start with the opening but that did not happen. The openers Arunkumar and Kohli were dismissed at a score of zero and three runs and even the next man, Misbah too was dismissed on a duck. Kallis scored 20 runs before dismissal. All the runs that were made by this team were contributed by Rahul Dravid and him alone. He was there on the field till the end and scored 75 runs off 36 balls. The lower order did not go in accordance with this and was dismissed very quickly too. The team was able to gather only 132 runs in the 20 overs and lost the match by 65 runs. Smith was awarded the man of the match for his contribution to the team score.
