Chennai claim victory over Deccan, Mumbai out of semis

The Deccan Chargers seem to have taken a strong vow not to win in their home ground for sure. The Chennai Super Kings won this match today against the Deccan team by a good 7 wickets and became the fourth and last team to book a place in the semi-finals of the IPL. Raina was awarded the man of the match.

MS Dhoni lost the toss and the Deccan team chose to bat first. Dhoni however saw to it that everything else went well for the team. The Deccan started off the match with Gilly and Gibbs opening the innings. However these two players were both dismissed on 5 ans 8 runs respectively. Styris scored 20 runs and was dismissed by Ntini when he was just starting to get a flow. Rao and Teja however did their best by making 46 and 40 runs respectively. These two batsmen were dismissed one after the other in the nineteenth over which saw the fall of three wickets that included a run out as well. The team made a total of 147 runs for the Chennai team to chase.

Patel and Fleming started to bat for the Chennai team and made 20 and 14 runs respectively. Raina then came in to bat along with Dhoni and got the runs coming in well for the team. Raina scored 54 runs off 43 balls whereas Dhoni made a 25-ball 37 runs. The target was achieved bythe team when they still had 4 balls to go.

The team of the Chennai Super Kings will now face the Kings XI Punjab team which has been defeated by them twice. The Rajasthan Royals will, on the other hand, have a fixture with the Delhi Daredevils. These semi-finals will decide the teams that will play the final.
